Transcience

We chatted and played
Laughed and danced,
Discussed, in hushed voices,
Our plans to have fun.
We passed messages,
Following age-old customs.
We tested and tried,
The limits our
Friendship would reach.

Then I left,
To pursue ambitions
I had never heard of.
Then I left,
The place of my dreams,
To pursue goals
I did not want to achieve.
Then I left,
I left behind the people
I knew were my own.
The people who could
Touch my soul and not
Scratch it to make a mark.
The people who I,
Had helped and in turn,
Helped me cope with life.
The people I called my own.

Now gone are those days,
Those mornings,
Those bus rides,
Those huddled talks,
Those gatherings.
The chatter is lost
In the sands of time,
Degrained by pain
And made a blur forever.

I will miss
Those days,
I will miss
My friends.

Whirlwind of Pain

I see you walk by,
I can just wave to your back.
The mist of the unknown lands
Engulfs you
As you walk away.

I wait for a mail,
I wait for a message,
I wait to hear your sound
I wait to feel your skin,
I wait to smell your sweet smell,
My endless wait...

I watch people pass me by,
I talk to them,
I laugh with them,
I dance,
I sing,
I play during the day,
But at night,
I miss you.

It's been long,
I have tried too hard.
I have been swirling
In this whirlwind of pain
Far too long
I am tired now.
I need to get out of here.
I need a break.
I want to feel happiness again.
Come back…

Inner Radiance

Look at the world
Through the eyes of
My innocence;
You will observe
Nothing but alienation
Of souls-- cherished souls--
From the want to be strong.

Look at the world
Through the eyes of
My care;
You will observe
Only fear
Of trading destiny
For fortune
(Always confusing the two
To be same).

Look at the world
Through the eyes of
My hardwork;
And you will never see much.

Look at the world
Through the eyes of
My solitude;
You will observe
Undying, uncontrolled pace,
To reach the peak
Of ultimate greatness and success
(Not knowing which path
Really leads to them).

Look at the world
For yourself,
Realize the importance
Of sincerity,
Unleash the brilliance
You were born with,
And cherish then
The beauty your soul feels.

Persistence of Vision

Its been a while,
Since the mist of
Last night's suffering
Has been of any significance.
The air is moist and cool-
Not cold
-And the light is dim
And faint, with
Its origin unfathomable.

Not wrapped in the finest wool
This world can produce,
But in common cotton,
The surrounding coolness
Seems threatening.
There is a road, though,
Leading to many lands,
Some reached, some unreached,
And some thought to be unreachable.
To embark on a journey
To an unknown destination,
Is always thought to be foolish.

The dangers are feared,
The rewards are overlooked,
Thus the strength to set out,
Subdued.
Only those
Of unhindered determination
And, a mad love
For all things feared,
Yet revered,
Appreciate the beauty-
As comparative as it might be
-In breaking selfish bonds,
Yet maintaining
Their responsibilities.

"Let us look down
Upon composure and self-control."
Others explain.
"Let us look down
Upon your narrow-mindedness."
They reply.
Do not ask them
The meaning of loneliness,
For they laugh at it,
Though they live in it.
They live shunned.
By groups of small-thinking
Pessimists,
Who strangely
Are allowed to influence,
Other vulnerable minds.

Individual intelligence,
Has taken a back seat
(Has been given one, rather).
Only now will the arguement,
Shift in favour of the likes of
Galileo, Newton, DaVinci,
Among others,
But only a few
Will get up
With firm resolve,
To follow their example.
And thus will win,
The persistence
Of their inner vision.

The Other Side of Me

A dark alley,
With puddles of blood scattered.
A neon green light flickering,
And utter silence.
Yes, it is a dull, gloomy picture;
A picture most would stay away from.
But not I.
I live, grow, mature here.
I devour gloom.
I find solace in loneliness.
I make sure I die,
So that another life can live.
And in giving, I receive.
I know pain,
I know suffering,
I know what it feels,
To have no feelings at all.
I strive, to live through it all.
I stand, on my own,
Learning from the past.

There is good.
I refuse to believe there is not.
I will not bow,
To any insult or humiliation
Done to my sacrifices;
For I sacrifice for those
Who are worth.
I don't belong to the clouds,
Nor to the heavens above,
But to mere soil,
That too, deep within.
Nothing can change that,
No amount of pain or suffering, and
No amount of disappointment.

I was made to feel,
And feel I will,
For the countless hearts
That beat for joy,
For tears galore,
Wasted every second
By undeserving idiots,
For millions of smiles,
Lost in emptiness.

I refuse to be let down,
By someone else's mistakes.
Enough of ruining lives.
Now, I will make a worthy one,
That deserves, not pain,
No hardships nor sacrifices,
But love, happiness, joy,
And independence.

Simple Nonsense

Looking up at the sky,
Then looking back down at the ground.
My heart pumping fast,
Beating hard against my ribs.
I breathe, no, pant furiously,
I have been running.
For a really long time now.
Away from it all,
Chasing nothing,
Just running.
My muscles cramp,
They pain and complain,
And I run.
My eyes drenched in haze,
My clothes covered in sweat,
And I run.
I watch expectations fly by,
I can see myself change.
A cool breeze dampens my pace,
I loose my concentration.
My mind trails back to
Times of courage and confidence.
Days of belief and hope,
Summers of joy and laughter.
Then....I heave.
Air rushes back into me.
Adrenaline pumps again,
And I run.
Tired of being chased by
Nightmares created out of insecurities,
I turn around. And stop.
I see the blackness I fear.
I sense the chill.
I watch it engulf, then,
Destroy happiness and beauty.
The cool breeze still blows.
It blows my fatigue away.
I embrace the approaching black mist,
I walk through it.
I see nothing but darkness,
And hear only my own heart beating.
I feel only the warmth I spread.
I relax.
I take my time.
I get to know myself better.
Then...I, like the breeze,
As if wings have sprouted from my back,
Put all my might,
Into blowing the dark mist away.
Gaining ground with every flap...

Now, days ahead,
I overlook my abode,
From a height I never reached before,
My wings rest by my side.
